The Aerican Empire Wiki, being established mainly for reference by (and creation by) Aerican citizens, recognizes that not everything included within the Aerican Empire Wiki needs to be attributed to a reliable source. Nevertheless, the Aerican Empire Wiki is an encyclopedia, and, as such, does require verification in the form of attribution in some situations.
This Wiki is not a publisher of original thought. Opinions, experiences, arguments, original ideas, or neologisms about a particular topic that are not attributed to a published source are likely to be challenged and removed by community consensus or, in some cases, by a single editor. Theories, speculation, and analyses are allowed so long as they are not purported as unchallenged fact. Similarly, editors may make straightforward mathematical calculations or logical deductions based on fully attributed data that neither change the significance of the data nor require additional assumptions beyond what is in the source. It should be possible for any reader without specialist knowledge to understand the deductions.
You may cite your own publications just as you would cite anyone else's, but make sure your material is relevant and that you are regarded as a reliable source for the purposes of the Aerican Empire Wiki. Be cautious about excessive citation of your own work, which may be seen as promotional or a conflict of interest; when in doubt, check on the talk page.
In general, anything that is challenged by other editors should be cited. To challenge a particular statement, add {{Cite|<Date>}} after the statement.
